• Common Name : Common Grass Yellow
• Scientific Name : Eurema hecabe (Linnaeus)
• Family : PIERIDAE
• Wingspan : 40-50mm
• Colour : Bright yellow with black borders on the upperside of its wings.
• Habit : A very common butterfly and occurs round the year. It has weak fluttering flight. Most active in the morning and at noon. Feeds mostly on the small low growing flowers like Tridax, Ageratum etc.
• Larval Host Plants : All its host plants are leguminous like Cassia fistula, C. siamea, C. tora, C. sophera, Albizia sp., Acaia sp., Caesalpinia sp.
• Location : Throughout West Bengal
