Wingspan : 54 - 65 mm
Colour : Easily identifiable by the bright yellow colouring. The upper side is golden yellow with a broad black margin on all four wings; underside yellowish with silvery spots.
Habit : A very common butterfly of throughout the hilly region of Darjeeling district; found in the forest clearings or in the open meadows; visits various species of low growing flowers such as Taraxacum officinale, Gentiana carinata, Primula sp. etc.
Larval Host Plants : leguminous plants
