Scientific Name : Abisara echerius (Moore)

Wingspan : 40 - 50 mm
Colour : Purple brown with obscure markings.
Habit : Butterfly of denser areas. It never visits flowers. In the early morning it sits in a sunny patch with wings slightly open generally about 1 to 2 m from the ground. In fact, its wings are so constructed that it can never close them completely.
Larval Host Plants : Embelia robusta, Ardisia sp.
