Description

- Scientific Name : Jamides celeno (Cramer)
- Family : LYCAENIDAE
- Wingspan : 27-40mm
- Colour : Grey or brown with white lines or brown bands.
- Habit : Prefers partially sunlit places. Flies erratically, but not very fast among bushes and avoids sitting on the ground. Often visits flowers of small herbs, shrubs and trees, e.g., Alternanthera, Tridax, Xanthophyllum, Chromolaena etc.
- Larval Host Plants : Abrus precatorius, Butea monosperma, Pongamia pinnata, Saraca asoka
- Location : Throughout West Bengal
