Description
- Common Name : Common Silverline
- Scientific Name : Spindasis vulcanus (Fabricius)
- Family : LYCAENIDAE
- Wingspan : 26-34mm
- Colour : The underside of the wing is light yellow with brilliant red bands. These bands are surrounded by thin black lines on either side and also have central golden lines.
- Habit : Powerful and extremely swift flight. Visits flowers and flies in search of them. Nectar source is often weedy species, such as Lantana, Mikania, Chromolaena etc.
- Larval Host Plants : Ziziphus mauritiana, Ziziphus rugosa, Cadaba fruticosa, Allophylus cobbe.
- Location : Throughout West Bengal
