Description

• Common Name : Dark Grass Blue
• Scientific Name : Zizeeria knysna (Kollar)
• Family : LYCAENIDAE
• Wingspan : 18-24mm
• Colour : Upperside dark blue, underside usually brown, occassionaly brown, spots are rounded and dark.
• Habit : Commonly found in and around garden, wetland, along the forest edges of South Bengal; weak flier, flies very close to ground; often seen basking with its wings half open.
• Larval Host Plants : Oxalis sp. and Leguminosae plants, Strobilanthes sp. etc.
• Location : Throughout West Bengal
