Description

- Scientific Name : Ixias pyrene (Linnaeus)

- Wingspan : 50-55mm
- Colour : Bright yellow and large orange band nearer the cell than the apex.
- Habit : Flies in the bushes and scrub at the edge of the forested areas. Flight is fast and straight. It basks with its wings open for quite sometime in the morning. Feeds on various species of flowers.
