Description

• Common Name : Yellow Pansy
• Scientific Name : Precis hierta (Evans)
• Family : NYMPHALIDAE
• Wingspan : 40-60mm
• Colour : It is predominantly yellow. Its fore wing apex is black with yellow spots. The hind wings have large blue spot.
• Habit : Found in dry areas and stony stream-beds in the deciduous forests; fond of visiting flowers like Tagetes, Tridax and garden flowers; seen almost throughout the year.
• Larval Host Plants : Hygrophila auriculata, Barleria sp.
